Events for the Month of June

Adult B'nai Mitzvah, June 12, 10:00am

Tikva Naim Briggs, Nancy Kessler, Terry Richter, Georgiann Gruenthaler, Diane Mason, Marsha Pankewich West.  This service is dedicated to the memory of classmate Ann Marshall Levine.  A bagel brunch will follow the service.

TBS Congregational Tour of A Walk Through Jerusalem

We will meet At Grace Cathedral and enjoy the exhibit together.  If you know you will be joining us please RSVP to Temple so we can let Grace know how many of us to expect.

Closing Exhibit Tri-Faith Dinner-Monday June 21 6:30 PM

This will be a wonderful low-key opportunity to get to know some of the people from the Islamic Center and Grace Episcopal Cathedral.  Everyone is asked to bring a dish to share.  No pork or shellfish.  We will eat, mingle and participate in a few fun activities together.  This event will be held at the Islamic Center of Topeka at 1115 SE 27th St.

Special Outdoor Dinner and Shabbat Service with the LJCC

This summer we continue our wonderful tradition of having a summer Shabbat gathering with the Lawrence Jewish Community Center.  Please join us at the Centennial Park W.9th St. (the park is located between 6th and 9th Streets; Iowa Street and Rockledge Road) in Lawrence.  If there is bad weather, the event will be held at the LJCC (917 Highland Drive).  Warren Sickle will lead music, Henry Bial will lead the English, and Eve Levin will offer a D'var Torah.  Shabbat blessings and dinner will be first followed by the service.  Chicken and drinks will be provided.  Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.  Please RSVP to Temple by June 22 so we will know how much chicken to order.

For 2010, the Adult Education Committee's book club is reading books from contemporary women Israeli authors.  The next in our series is The Saturday Morning Murder: A Psychoanalytic Case by Btya Gur.
